Everett Clair Young (09/21/1922 - 01/02/2004)
Everett "Babe" Clair Young, 81, died at 3:40 a.m. (MST) Friday, January 2, 2004 at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa, Arizona where he remained sedated since checking in after a 911 call from his apartment three days earlier (Tuesday, December 30th). Though he never regained consciousness, his two daughters sat with him in the hospital during this period (Sandy happened to be visiting Cindy).
He was born in Seymour, Illinois a son of Iva Belle (Mitchell) and George Henry Young. He is survived by his seven children, and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Mr. Young graduated from the University of Illinois in 1947 with a degree in Industrial Design and lettered in baseball while a student. His honors also include a Masters from Northern Arizona University and the Spirit of Arizona award. He was an avid inventor with five patents to his credit.
