Though injured bird stories rarely have a happy ending, Glen and Teri were encouraged to observe that parent birds were visiting the little guy often throughout the day delivering worms, bugs and berries. It became obvious that he was a young robin still being tended by his parents, and we were careful not to spook their continued care.
We wondered if he was ill or injured, though no injury was obvious. Perhaps he was pushed from the nest too soon and might still learn to fly one day.
With delightful summer weather over the next few days, Teri was out in the yard a lot dealing with a load of compost we’d had delivered. She did not engage the little bird at all, just went about her work noticing that he didn’t try to run away from her. In fact, he didn’t move around too much at all.
